First Trimester Update

I am currently in my 12th week. I have been looking forward to getting out of the first trimester ever since I got pregnant. Supposedly, the nausea goes away, and the chance of miscarriage drops significantly. Less than 2 weeks to go! For the most part, I have been lucky with my pregnancy. For the first 8 weeks, I was extremely tired. I had no energy to do anything. I spent a lot of time in bed after work. The nausea was the worst between weeks 8 and 10. If I did not eat by 9 or 10 am, I was doomed for the rest of the day. You would think I would learn to just eat breakfast, but I have never really eaten breakfast my entire life, so it was difficult. I would say I had 5 days of horrible nausea that just wouldn't go away all day. I never puked! For those of you who know me well, I am TERRIFIED of vomiting, so this was a VERY pleasant surprise! Here are some "belly" pictures. In reality, I don't think I started to show until this week, and that's only after I've eaten too much. So although I have a belly in these pics, it's likely because I ate too much dinner. I think the main thing these pictures prove is that I have a HUGE butt, and we all know that was there way before the pregnancy :)

Hair Dye Ad Nauseam?

It was Saturday, September 5th, and I had a hair appointment at Bubbles salon. After MUCH deliberation, I had decided I was going to go brunette again. Really, I was ready for a change and tired of paying for highlights and having roots. I had literally spent weeks deciding whether to go blonder or brunette. I used a makeover site to try out both hair colors. When I showed my stylist the picture of the brunette girl as an example of what I wanted, she had no idea it was a picture of my face and said "that girl looks really freaky." Haha!

The minute my stylist put the dye on my hair, I thought I was going to be sick. I even had to ask to go to the bathroom while she was applying the dye. I thought I was going to puke for sure. I texted Andrew and said "I am soooo nauseous. I'm pretty sure I could be pregnant." Andrew knows I can be a bit of a hypochondriac, and this was definitely not the first time I've thought that I could be pregnant. Andrew wrote back "Test time." Although I knew it was a possibility, I figured this was just me being paranoid and I tried to calm myself down and get through the hair appointment. I wrote back "Ugh. I hope I can make it through this appt. The nausea will hopefully pass."  Andrew wrote back, "It will don't worry. Just a wave." Well the nausea did pass by the end of the appointment, though I knew I needed food. I picked up some Cane's and went home.
I took the pregnancy test after eating lunch, and it was positive! We were SHOCKED! We were so excited, hugging each other in complete disbelief. We took another one  and it was positive as well. Then another the next day...same result. We celebrated the big news by watching LSU beat Washington that night in football. In the below picture, we are trying to show the date we found out we were pregnant...backwards. At this point, I'm only about 4 weeks along. In the last picture, I'm trying to show my "baby belly" :)

A Trip Down Memory Lane

So much has happened since our wedding in March, I decided to take a trip down memory lane. We honestly had the wedding of our dreams and we both feel so blessed that our wonderful parents made it possible. The ceremony was held at 7 pm at St. Louis Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Omni Royal Orleans. The Storyville Stompers Brass Band led the second line dance from the cathedral to the hotel. The Jangling Reinharts, a band Andrew has grown close to booking them over the years, kept the party going until midnight. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the wedding for you to enjoy.
