Mommy is VERY happy...
because Cullen slept from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am last night (a Saturday night which made it even better) and he did not wake up puking (like the one other time he slept all the way through the night). Let's hope this becomes a trend!

Cullen: Seven Months Old
I feel like it was just yesterday I was posting your six month update. You are growing up so so fast. This post has lots of pictures, probably way too much writing for anyone but the grandmas, but that's what happens when I only post once a month. This month's biggest milestones were:
-You sit up very well on your own now, no toppling over.
-You got your first tooth, the one on the bottom middle. It's been halfway through for about a week now.
-The whole family got a bad stomach virus that is making its way through Charlottesville.
-You almost always sleep on your tummy now.
-I'm still nursing but this past month you've typically gotten half breastmilk and half formula.
-This week you're on the verge of crawling. You push up on all fours briefly and scoot backwards a lot when you're on your tummy. Mommy is in no rush for this to happen!
Other adventures this month:
We went to church a few times. You no longer sleep/behave during church. It's rather stressful for mommy, even in the 'baby' room
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Mimi and Grandpa Juge. Like usual, Mimi got some great pictures.
You love your Exersaucer that Amanda and baby Claire so generously let us borrow
You sit up very well on your own and can hold almost anything. You love playing with your pacifier, pulling it in and out of your mouth, and passing it between hands.
You got your first boo-boo when mom cut your thumb pretty badly when trimming your nails. I felt awful about it. It didn't seem to bother you but your finger would not stop bleeding. Must have been at least an hour before it stopped.

December 2nd was the first night you went without a feeding during the night. This does NOT mean you slept through the night by any means. There was lots of screaming involved. You have slept through the night once EVER (December 7 from 7:30 pm 7:30 am), and sadly that was when you had the stomach bug.
On December 3, we decorated our Christmas tree. You weren't very into it, but you do like looking at the lights.
On December 4th, we went to baby yoga at Bend for the first time with Lauren and your buddy Austin. It was fun. We were the only people in the Saturday class. You love your Exersaucer that Amanda and baby Claire so generously let us borrow

Grandma and PaPa Schoen came to visit last weekend. Unfortunately we were sick for a lot of the visit, but I loved having them here.
And today, on your 7 month birthday, we had our first major snowfall of the season. We bundled you up in your snowsuit that Grandma gave you and took you outside for a bit. You loved watching the snow fall throughout the day through the windows, but you weren't as big of a fan of actually being outside in it. You must hate the cold just like mom and dad.We love you so so much and can't wait to spend our first Christmas together as a family next week!

Cullen's Six Month Doctor's Visit
Cullen went to the doctor today for his six month checkup and third round of shots. He was a trooper with the shots and barely cried. He was in good spirits today and they didn't seem to affect him much at all. Always a relief.
Weight: 17 lbs. 8 ounces (50th percentile)
Height: 27 3/4 inches (90th percentile)
And because I'm not doing the best job of updating his baby book, here is Cullen's culinary repertoire so far. Cullen started with rice cereal at about four and a half months. Next we moved to peas at about five and a half months. He wasn't too fond of them. Then we tried prunes out of necessity :) He was a big fan. Next we had carrots which he surprisingly loved. Most recently we've been eating pears. He likes those too. True to form, he isn't really scared of anything and dives right in (not at all like his mommy). He's a big eater, my little piggy.

Cullen: Six Months Old
It's been a long time since I've posted - about a month now I guess. This month has been so busy for the Juge family. We moved into our new house on October 30th. The move went smoothly and we are really enjoying the neighborhood and extra space. Here is a picture of the front of the house, courtesy of Anne. I promise to post some pictures of the interior once it gets set up. We are still moving everything in - no pictures are hung, there are still a few boxes left to be unpacked, etc. We also flew down to New Orleans for my cousin Guerry's wedding last weekend. We had a great time and the photographer took lots of pictures of Cullen, so hopefully I will be able to post those soon.
I can't believe our little Cullen (otherwise known as "munchkin", "Cull-Cull", "munchkey", "booger") is SIX MONTHS OLD. I can't believe how time has flown, yet I can't even begin to remember what life was like without our little baby boy. I guess I remember a lot more freedom but a lot less joy. This little guy makes Andrew and I laugh constantly. We were blessed with such a good baby - he really only cries when he's hungry, tired, or doesn't want to be in his crib (which unfortunately is happening a lot more frequently since my last blog post). At 5 months, he was doing really well and only waking up once a night. We have not been so lucky the past few weeks - maybe teething, maybe a growth spurt, maybe too many changes around him, who knows - but lately he's been getting up 2-3 times a night again. Not good for mommy!
He loves hanging out and watching football with his daddy
Milestones:
-We've tried more solids - peas (he hates them), prunes (a little better), and rice cereal. I've been slacking in this department, so I promise by the 7 month post, Cullen will be enjoying many more delicious solids.
-Cullen threw up for the first time this month. I think we overfed him rice cereal. It was so sad. I found him in his bed covered in puke, and when we bathed him to clean him up, he puked in the tub. It was so sad and I was so upset for him, but he went right back to bed and woke up fine in the morning.
-He had formula for the first time a few weeks ago. I've just been supplementing 2 ounces into his bottle of breast milk. I'm proud to say I reached my goal of breastfeeding until 6 months! But now I don't really want to stop. I think I'll just do a mixture of breast milk and formula this month and reevaluate things at 7 months (or when my supply is gone). I tried him on Enfamil Deluxe, but he was pretty fussy, so he is now eating the Enfamil soy formula called ProSoBee.
-He laughs hysterically, smiles constantly, and nothing in this world beats either of those things.
-He's in 6 month clothing and some 6-9 month clothing fits him well.
-He's in size 3 diapers.
-He can sit up on his own, sometimes for a few minutes. But he's very unsteady and will eventually topple over everytime.
-He's still putting everything he can get his hands on in his mouth and drooling a good bit, but no teeth yet.
-He's saying Ma-ma-ma constantly. Oh how I love it. We've also heard Da a few times. Ball, Ba, Ga. You get it :) He's good with his consonants.
-He flew for the third time this month. He's our little frequent flyer - all trips to Louisiana. 3 out of 4 flights were perfect this trip, but he screamed bloody murder on the 4th flight. SO embarrassing.
-He is getting good at holding things and reaches and picks up a lot of things. He constantly takes his pacifier out of his mouth and 50% of the time he can find a way to get it back in his mouth.
We go for his six month checkups and shots on the 29th, so I'll update you with measurements then. He is still very long and has a good bit of meat on his bones :)
WE LOVE YOU CULLEN, more than you'll ever know!!!!

Cullen: Five Months Old
Cullen was five months old on Saturday. He is such a little character - constantly smiling and laughing. Big milestones this month:
-Rolls over all the time. He's much better at going from his back to his stomach, but occasionally flips from his stomach to his back.
-Started rice cereal this month. He took to eating it right away and tries to hold the spoon. He's still exclusively breastfed besides some cereal at dinner time.
-He is teething and chomping on everything, with tons of drool, but a tooth has not broken through yet.
-Giggles and laughs, especially if we 'fake burp', 'fake bite', and make weird noises like 'a-e-i-o-u'. Daddy is much funnier than mommy. This video involves some pretty strange noises, but his laughing is just too funny not to post.
-Wants to be standing ALL THE TIME. He loves his exersaucer so he can bounce around and stay on his feet.
-He also likes sitting up, but can't sit on his own yet.
-He still loves bath time and giggles and splashes the entire time.
-The sleeping has gotten better, and on the good nights (which are more often than not lately), he'll only wake up once around 4 am.
He's still a big boy, very long and heavy. We have been super busy this month - we bought a new house and officially move in October 30th . So we've been busy packing and starting to haul things over. We also took a trip to the beach and to Baton Rouge last weekend to see my parents, since my mom still can't walk on her broken leg. We had a great time. Cullen got in the pool for the first time and loved it.
