Andrew's 30th Birthday Weekend

Andrew turned 30 on September 22nd. The weekend before, we had a party at Rapture to celebrate. Our wedding band, The Jangling Reinharts, played the event. We had a blast and it was great to get out and party together for the first time since Cullen was born. A HUGE thanks to Andrew's mom for watching Cullen while we were at the party.

On Saturday morning, Uncle Dave drove up to see Cullen for the first time since he was a week old. It was great to have him here and he was so good with Cullen. Cullen enjoyed hanging out with his Uncle and watching some football.
On Sunday, Anne treated us to brunch at Boar's Head which was delicious. Cullen did not enjoy himself one bit and we spent most of the meal outside with him so he wouldn't distract everyone else. After all that screaming, he was completely worn out. When we got home, he was so passed out that we couldn't get a good picture with him and his uncle all dressed up. These crack me up - asleep with one shoe missing.
It was a great weekend!

Cullen: Four Months Old

Better late than never...Cullen turned 4 months old on September 16th. We had his 4 month check-up at the pediatrician's office that same day and he had to get his 2nd round of shots. He handled them well and actually wasn't too fussy afterwards. This month has been really amazing. I love this little guy so, so much! He is stubborn and feisty, but he is also sweet as can be and smiles constantly. He can go from being very serious to very silly and back again in no time. This month he started sleeping in his own room. It was definitely necessary, but hard for me. Andrew laid down the law and made us move him which was a good thing. He's doing well in his crib. We had a few traumatic instances with my little wiggle worm getting his arms and legs caught in the crib slats, but the mesh bumpers are now helping with that. Last Sunday he rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time while his Uncle Dave was here (more about that visit in another post). He likes to sleep on his side. He is sleeping for a 6 hour stretch and then a 3 hour stretch most nights. We had a rough patch a couple of weeks ago with sleep, but he seems to be back on track. He puts anything he can get his hands on in his mouth and he is drooling profusely. About a week ago he started putting his feet in his mouth as well (lovely!). I guess it's the beginning stages of teething. He likes to reach for objects and he especially loves pulling people's hair. He wears size 2 diapers and size 3-6 month (really 6 month) clothes.

Weight: 15 pounds (50th percentile)
Length: 26 1/2 inches (95th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 cm

Cullen likes his bumbo seat, though he spends a lot of time trying to crawl out of it.
Cullen LOVES his play gym on the floor
Lately he does not love to take naps AT ALL. In fact, he doesn't like sleeping much in general until he is completely worn out. He does not want to miss out on any action.
He loves doing airplane, or 'flying Cullen' with Daddy.
And he always wants to be upright. He is trying so hard to sit up on his own, but it's not working yet.
Some close-ups.
And in closing, here is Andrew's favorite picture of Cullen. He looks mad, drunk, or both.

17 Weeks: LSU Game and Church

Cullen is 17 weeks old today. Last night we watched LSU beat Vanderbilt in a pretty lackluster performance. Today we went to church and Eppie's brunch. Cullen slept through most of church in the baby room. I had to get some pictures of his adorable outfit from Aunt Peggy (from Auraluz in Metairie).

Let's Go Saints!

Cullen cheered on the Saints during their victory over the Vikings Thursday night. Here are some pictures of him in his Saints gear! It was the first time we were away from Daddy since he flew to New Orleans for the game. We missed him a lot!

16 Weeks: Labor Day Weekend

Cullen was 16 weeks old over Labor Day weekend. The weekend consisted of some much needed relaxing, a trip to Boar's Head pool and watching the LSU-UNC game on TV. Unfortunately, by the time the game came on, Cullen had already pooped all over his LSU onesie. Typical for Cullen (this happens at least 3 times a week).
Wiped out after the pool!
